The traditional dessert gets an Australian makeover at Western Australia’s only store.

The handmade delicacy is meticulously crafted with layers of honey and caramel and topped with ground walnuts by baker Simona Kapoun, who was the first commercial baker to bring the European treat to Australia, and remains the state’s only producer.

Simona has taken an old Czech recipe, handed down from her aunt, and reinvented it with a uniquely West Australian twist. Made with local free-range eggs and raw, col-processed honey from Margaret River, The Honeycake is a traditional dessert to suit modern Australian tastebuds.
