To conclude 2019 Art Collective WA is celebrating the career and 97th birthday of Carol Rudyard, one of Australia’s most important and ground breaking artists. This exhibition, presented in partnership with Gallery East, charts her art work journey, as she transformed the minutely observed qualities of her everyday world into a rich tapestry of cultural connections – working in hard edge painting, watercolour and textiles to new media and video installation. She was made a State Living Treasure in 2004 ‘For her outstanding contribution to the visual arts, as an abstract painter, teacher, pioneer of audiovisual installation in Western Australia and creator of a sophisticated body of work providing commentary on contemporary life.’
