In July we celebrate the history, culture, and achievement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and invite the nation to embrace First Nations’ cultural knowledge and understanding of Country for NAIDOC week. To commemorate, local Indigenous artist Justin Martin has transformed the Square into an Urban Gallery displaying his incredible body of work, comprising of 6 remarkable Aboriginal Art pieces. Due to the COVID Lock-down, Justin’s work can also be viewed Online.

About the Artwork:

Goanna Dreaming is a detailed art piece that derives the creation of the goanna and the significant land where the creation took place. The large circle is where the people have ceremony song and dance. The star like shapes is a Carara bush and medicine tree. The trails are the tracks that the goanna follows for his transformation. Acrylic on Canvas, 81cm x 81cm (Sold Framed)
